ABOUT ME

Thanks for checking out my writing! I started this page in the days after classes were shut down due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. What became a silly project to jot some thoughts down turned into a matured passion for wanting to tell stories. Through this journey, I've been inspired by writers like Salman Rushdie, William Faulkner, and Virginia Woolf as much as I have other artists like Prince, Mobb Deep and Caravaggio. Their artistry has heavily inspired me to want to hone my creative skills.
I use this website to try and challenge myself to become a better writer. I tell myself one thing as I write: "I'm not very good now, but I hope to be in ten years." This website is a reflection of that – its an opportunity to see how my writing has developed and grown over time.

There's a great quote from Marcel Proust, which I will butcher here, but it goes something to the effect of "true genius is the ability to reflect, accurately, the world around you." Well I'm no Proust but I do want to use this space to show what I'm seeing in others. From DC, to Brixton, to Kolkata, I'm excited to document the world, curves and bends in tact.

But above all, this space is for community. No writer works in isolation and I'm more interested in sharing stories that highlight our common bond as people.
